A hilly area on the border between Ishikawa and Toyama prefectures. It stretches for about 40km from Mt. Sekido (564m) at the base of the Noto Peninsula to Kurikara Pass (260m) in the south, stretching from northeast to southwest. The highest peak is Mt. Hodatsu at 637m. It continues to Mt. Futagami (274m) in Toyama prefecture. The Neogene layer is widespread, and landslides occur in Himi and Oyabe cities in Toyama prefecture, and Tsubata town in Kahoku district, Ishikawa prefecture. Afforestation is also popular, and Bokasugi is known on the Toyama side. There are many roads that cross mountain passes, such as Kurikara Pass and Nashinoki Pass.
