Born: 1425/1430. Cordoba
Died in 1498. Spanish painter. Records show that he was in Aragon from 1474 to 1477, and in Catalonia from 1486 to 1495. He established a strong sense of expression and individuality by combining Andalusian lyricism with the descriptive power of Flemish painters. He also introduced the technique of oil painting to Spain. His attested works include "Saint Dominic of Silos" (1474, Prado Museum) and "Pietà" (1990) in Barcelona Cathedral.
