A movement and ideological trend that emerged from the combination of anarchism and the labor union movement, mainly in France in the late 19th century. Revolutionary syndicalism. It rejected the state and political power, and sought to take direct action against capitalists based on syndica (unions), ultimately abolishing the relationship between capital and wage labor through general strikes. It was strongly opposed to the parliamentary system. It spread to Italy, Spain, and other countries, and also influenced British guild socialism, the Industrial Workers of the World in the United States, and the Japanese labor movement around 1920.

19世紀末葉フランスを中心にアナーキズムと労働組合運動との結合によって生まれた運動およびその思想潮流。革命的サンディカリズム。国家と政治権力を否定し，サンディカ（組合）を基礎として資本家に対する直接行動をとり，最終的にはゼネストによって資本―賃労働関係の廃絶に向かおうとしたもので，議会制度には強く反対した。イタリア，スペインなどに広がり，英国のギルド社会主義，米国の世界産業労働者組合，1920年前後の日本の労働運動などにも影響を与えている。
