In the late Middle Ages in Japan, when a "named field" was donated or sold, it was agreed that the transferor would pay the public taxes, such as annual tributes and lottery fees, levied on the field. Under the manor system, taxes on fields were calculated in units of "myō," and the headman was responsible for collecting the taxes on the fields within his name. However, after the Muromachi period, as the headman's share of the land, known as "kajishi" or "uchitoku," increased and the position of headman was frequently sold and divided, the question of whether or not the headman would pay the taxes became an issue, and this was written into the contract. 〈抜き地〉ともいう。日本の中世後期,名田畠の寄進・売買などの際,その名田畠に賦課されている年貢,公事(くじ)などの公租を,譲渡者が負担することを契約した田畠。荘園制下の田畠に対する賦課は名を単位とし,名主が徴税責任者として名内の田畠の公租を請け負っていたが,室町時代以降,加地子(かじし),内徳(うちとく)などと呼ばれる名主得分が増大して名主職の分割売買が盛んになると,その公租の負担の有無が問題となり,契約状にそれが記されるようになった。
