The trunk is generally long and conical or bullet-shaped, and those that do not taper much from bottom to top are called full wood (urabutori wood), while those that taper significantly are called uragoke wood (uragoke wood). Even within a single tree, the quality of the wood varies to a certain extent, and for example, the specific gravity can vary by 10 to 20 percent from the average value.
