Peroxo acid (English spelling)

Japanese: ペルオキソ酸 - ぺるおきそさん（英語表記）peroxo acid

This refers to an oxoacid in which O ₂ ^2- is coordinated instead of O ^2- . In the past, it was also called peroxy acid or peroxo acid. Examples of this include peroxomonosulfuric acid (H ₂ SO _{5 )} , peroxodisulfuric acid (H ₂ S ₂ O _{8 )} , peroxomonophosphoric acid (H ₃ PO _{5 )} , peroxodiphosphoric acid (H ₄ P ₂ O _{8 )} , peroxonitic acid (H NO _{4 )} , peroxotitanic acid (H ₄ TiO _{8 )} , and peroxochromate (H ₃ CrO _{8 )} . In the past, H ₂ SO ₅ was called permonosulfuric acid, H ₂ S ₂ O ₈ was called perdisulfuric acid, and H ₃ PO ₅ was called superphosphoric acid, and so on, but this is a misnomer, and the term peroxy acid is used only for oxoacids with higher oxidation states of elements in Group VII of the periodic table, such as perchloric acid (HClO ₄₎ and permanganic acid (HMnO ₄₎ .

オキソ酸のうち，O^2－の代りにO₂^2－が配位した酸をいう。かつて過酸化酸，ペルオクソ酸などとも呼んだ。ペルオキソ一硫酸H₂SO₅，ペルオキソ二硫酸H₂S₂O₈，ペルオキソ一リン酸H₃PO₅，ペルオキソ二リン酸H₄P₂O₈，ペルオキソ硝酸HNO₄，ペルオキソチタン酸H₄TiO₈，ペルオキソクロム酸H₃CrO₈などがこれに属する。　かつてH₂SO₅を過一硫酸，H₂S₂O₈を過二硫酸，H₃PO₅を過リン酸など，過〇〇酸と呼んだことがあるが，これは誤称であって，過〇〇酸は，過塩素酸HClO₄，過マンガン酸HMnO₄など，周期表の第VII族元素の酸化数の高いオキソ酸のみに用いられるものである。
