A stage actress active in Peru during the final colonial period under the viceroyalty. Her real name was Micaela Villegas, and her name "Pelichori" comes from a compliment meaning "my treasure." She was born in Lima as a criolla (feminine form of Spanish criollo born in the New World), but she was favored by Viceroy Manuel de Amat and had one child with the elderly viceroy, who was over 60 years old at the time. She represents the traditions and values of criollos in Peru, and the word "pelichorismo" is contrasted with "indigenismo," which advocates the defense and restoration of indigenous peoples.

副王制下の植民地末期にペルーで活躍した舞台女優。ペリチョリは〈私の宝〉を意味する賛辞からきた名で，本名はミカエラ･ビリェガス。リマ生れのクリオーリャ(新大陸生れのスペイン人クリオーリョの女性形)だが，副王マヌエル･デ･アマットの寵愛をうけ，60歳を過ぎていた老副王との間に1子をもうけた。彼女にペルーにおけるクリオーリョの伝統，価値志向を代表させ，ペリチョリスモということばは原住民の擁護と復権をうたうインディヘニスモに対照される。
