〘 noun 〙 (pennant) A small, long, triangular flag. (i) For example, one with a university emblem attached. * Hanging Basket and Moonlight (1930) by Makino Shinichi "This one is on the wall, under a pennant with 'WASEDA' written on it." (b) A championship flag. Specifically referring to a baseball flag. By extension, it means victory or dominance. * Visiting America (1910) by Masaoka Geiyo An unusual welcome party "This year, baseball was once again the champion of the American League, and won the pennant."
