This mountain is located in the center of the Hidaka Mountains in south-central Hokkaido, on the border between the Hidaka Subprefectural Bureau and the Tokachi General Subprefectural Bureau. It is 1,736 meters above sea level. It is made of metamorphic rocks such as hybrid rock and gneiss, and three cirques can be seen on the northeast side near the summit. It is a representative mountain of Hidaka, but is known for its long climbing route because it is located at the very back of the mountain range. You enter from the valley of the Nakano River from the Tokachi side, or the Shizunai River from the Hidaka side, and climb along the ridge, but this is a course that is not easy for anyone other than an expert.
