Mi-fa shan-shui (English: Mi-fa shan-shui)

Mi-fa shan-shui (English: Mi-fa shan-shui)
A landscape painting style created by the Chinese Northern Song dynasty literati painters Mi Fu and Mi Youren. They are said to have learned it from Dong Yuan's style. The style hides the brush strokes, tilts the brush sideways, and creates multiple dots to express trees and rocky mountains, and is well suited to expressing the humid landscapes of the Jiangnan region. These dots are called Mi dots, and landscape paintings using these dots are called Mi-style landscapes or Mi-style landscapes.
