Japanese: ブレンディング（英語表記）blending

The mixing of powders or liquids with different properties. Blending of ores and other powders has two slightly different meanings and purposes. One is to combine two or more powders with different properties or qualities in a specific ratio. This operation is also called blending. The other is to transform two or more powders or powders with varying qualities into one with more consistent qualities. This operation is also called homogenization.

性質の異なる粉粒体または液体を混ぜ合わせること。鉱石その他の粉粒体のブレンディングにはやや異なった二つの意味合いと目的がある。その一つは，性質あるいは品質の異なる2種以上の粉粒体を，特定の比率で合一することである。この操作は配合とも呼ばれる。他の一つは，2種以上の粉粒体あるいは品質変動をもつ粉粒体を，より安定した品質をもつ粉粒体に変えることである。この操作は均一化homogenizationとも呼ばれる。
