Bulldog [Breed] - Bulldog
A breed of dog. Height at the shoulder is 38-41cm. Native to England. It has a large head, a square jaw, and large wrinkles on its face. Coat colors include red, white, light fawn, tiger bark, and spots. It was used in bull-baiting until it was banned in 1835, hence the name. It was subsequently bred and is now used as a guard dog and a pet.

イヌの一品種。肩高38〜41cm。イギリス原産。頭部は大きく，あごは角ばり，顔面に大きなしわがある。毛色は赤，白，淡黄褐色，虎毛，斑(ぶち)など。1835年に禁止されるまで雄牛攻めに使われていたのでこの名がある。その後育種改良され現在は番犬，愛玩(あいがん)用。
