Ganlan (English spelling)

Japanese: 干闌 - かんらん（英語表記）gān lán

In China, this refers to a building with a raised floor structure. Various wooden members with processed tenons and tenons have been excavated from the Hemudu site in Zhejiang Province, which is estimated to be 6,000 to 7,000 years old by carbon-14 measurements, and similar sites from the Neolithic period to historical periods have been discovered in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Hubei, Yunnan, and other provinces. It is thought that in the pre-Qin period, from the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River to southern and southwestern China, a tradition of wooden architecture different from the mixed structures of wood, earth, and sun-dried bricks of the northern and central plains regions preceded it.

中国で高床構造の建物をいう。炭素14法による測定で，今から6000～7000年前とされる浙江省の河姆渡（かぼと）遺跡から各種の枘（ほぞ），枘穴を加工した木造部材が出土したのをはじめ，同種の遺跡は新石器時代から歴史時代まで，浙江，江蘇，湖北，雲南省などでも発見されている。長江(揚子江)中･下流域から華南･西南地方にかけて，先秦時代には華北･中原地方の木と土･日乾煉瓦と混合の構造とは別の木造建築の伝統が先行していたと考えられる。
