A plant is a large industrial facility that combines multiple machines and devices. Plant engineering is a system of technology that covers everything from planning and system design of the plant to fundraising, construction, operation, and aftercare. The industry that sells plants and their engineering technology is called the plant engineering industry. Plant engineering companies can be divided into the following categories based on their size and business activities: major specialized companies, steel companies, general construction companies, shipbuilding and heavy machinery companies, industrial machinery companies, heavy electrical equipment companies, communications, light current and instrumentation equipment companies, and specialized companies and others.
