Huch, Ricarda
Born: July 18, 1864 in Braunschweig
[Died] November 17, 1947. Schoenberg A female writer and historian representing German neo-romanticism. After graduating from the University of Zurich, she worked as a teacher and began writing novels. She was the first woman to become a member of the Prussian Academy of Arts and the first woman to win the Goethe Prize. In her early years, she produced many romantic and lyrical works, such as Memories of the Young Rudolf Ursleu (1893), and also attempted to reevaluate German Romanticism in her famous works Blütezeit der Romantik (1999) and Ausbreitung und Verfall der Romantik (1902). Later, she turned from creative writing to historical research, and wrote works such as Der grosse Krieg in Deutschland (3 volumes, 12-14).

Died: May 12, 1913, Munich German novelist. Cousin of the female writer R. Huf. Studied in Munich and Berlin and became a teacher, but later began his literary career in Munich. He portrayed the decadence of civil society and the delicate inner lives of young people with humor, satire and psychological analysis, and was praised by Thomas Mann. His major works include Peter und Michel (1901), Mao (07), and Pitt und Fox (09).

ドイツの新ロマン主義を代表する女流作家,歴史家。チューリヒ大学卒業後,教師をつとめ,小説を書きはじめた。プロシア芸術アカデミー最初の女性会員,ゲーテ賞を受賞した最初の女性。初期には『若きルドルフ・ウルスロイの追憶』 Erinnerungen von Ludolf Ursleu dem Jüngeren (1893) などのロマン的,抒情的作品が多く,また名著『ロマン主義の開花期』 Blütezeit der Romantik (99) ,『ロマン主義の普及と衰亡』 Ausbreitung und Verfall der Romantik (1902) において,ドイツ・ロマン派の再評価に努めた。のち創作から歴史研究に向い,『ドイツにおける大戦』 Der grosse Krieg in Deutschland (3巻,12~14) などを著わした。

ドイツの小説家。女流作家 R.フーフの従弟。ミュンヘン,ベルリンで学び教職についたが,のちミュンヘンで文学活動を始めた。市民社会のデカダンスや青少年の繊細な内面生活をユーモアと風刺や心理分析を駆使して描き,トーマス・マンに評価された。主著『ペーターとミヒェル』 Peter und Michel (1901) ,『マオ』 Mao (07) ,『ピットとフォックス』 Pitt und Fox (09) 。
