Tomb of King Muryong (English: Muryǒng-wang-rǔng)

Japanese: 武寧王陵 - ぶねいおうりょう（英語表記）Muryǒng-wang-rǔng

This ancient tomb is one of the Songsan-ri ancient tombs located on the hillside in the northern part of Gongju-eup, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. In July 1971, a completely virgin tomb was discovered behind Tomb No. 6, and after academic investigation, it was identified as the tomb of King Muryeong (died 523), the 25th king of Baekje, and his wife, based on the stone inscription. The tomb chamber is constructed with lotus-patterned bricks, has a dome-shaped ceiling, and has a wall niche. Many valuable relics were discovered, including a gold crown, and the ceramics among them are noteworthy evidence of relations between Baekje and the Southern Dynasties of China.

韓国忠清南道公州邑北部の丘陵斜面に位置する宋山里古墳群中の一古墳である。 1971年7月6号墳の背後から完全な処女墳が発見され，学術調査を経た結果，誌石銘から百済 25代の武寧王 (523没) 夫妻の墓と認められた。墓室は蓮花文塼で構築され，天井はドーム状をなし，壁龕を有する。金製王冠をはじめ多数の貴重な遺物が発見されたが，そのなかの陶磁器は中国南朝と百済の交渉を示す注目すべき資料である。
