Greek historian. Born in Olynthos. Nephew and student of Aristotle. He participated in Alexander's eastern campaign as a military historian, and in his writings he praised Alexander as a defender of Panhellenicism, even calling him the son of Zeus at times. However, he was executed on the pretext of participating in a rebellion. Neither of his works, Hellēnika (History of Greece) nor Praxeis Alexandrou (The Acts of Alexander), survives, and he is considered to be the author of Ta peri Alexandrou (The Tale of Alexander), which was written later. There is also an inscription praising his achievement of compiling the records of the Delphic festival games and creating a chronology.

ギリシアの歴史家。オリントスの出身。アリストテレスの甥で弟子。アレクサンドロス大王の東方遠征に従軍歴史家として参加，著書のなかで大王を汎ギリシア主義の擁護者としてたたえ，ときにはゼウスの子とさえ呼んだが，反逆の陰謀に加担したという口実のもとに処刑された。著書『ギリシア史』 Hellēnika，『アレクサンドロスの事績』 Praxeis Alexandrouはいずれも現存せず，後世の『アレクサンドロス物語』 Ta peri Alexandrouの著者に擬せられている。また，デルフォイの祭典競技の記録を整理して年代表を作成した彼の功績をたたえる碑文が現存している。
