[raw]? [Died] 327 BCE Greek historian. Born in Olynthos. Nephew and student of Aristotle. He participated in Alexander's eastern campaign as a military historian, and in his writings he praised Alexander as a defender of Panhellenicism, even calling him the son of Zeus at times. However, he was executed on the pretext of participating in a rebellion. Neither of his works, Hellēnika (History of Greece) nor Praxeis Alexandrou (The Acts of Alexander), survives, and he is considered to be the author of Ta peri Alexandrou (The Tale of Alexander), which was written later. There is also an inscription praising his achievement of compiling the records of the Delphic festival games and creating a chronology.
