Construction - Fushin

To invite the general public to work equally. This originally meant general communal labor, but especially in the Zen temples of the Tang Dynasty in China, it developed into an important meaning of practicing enlightenment, sweeping away the traditional individual practice and focusing on collective productive labor (especially farming), and investigating one's true self through the mutual cooperation of all actions. This spread led to the term being generalized again in later generations, when it was used to mean people in a community working together on civil engineering and construction projects, and further came to refer to the construction work itself.

普(あまね)く大衆を招請して均等に労働作業に従事すること。これは元来一般的な共同勤労の意であったようであるが、とくに中国唐代の禅院において、従来の個人的修証を一掃し、集団による生産労働（とくに農耕）を中心にし、いっさいの行為が互いに協調していくなかで真の自己を究明するという重要な修証の意味に発展した。その普及が、後世ふたたび一般化して、共同社会において人々が土木建築に協力従事することに用いられ、さらにその工事自体をさすようになった。
