[Terminology for single folds]
In a single fold cross section, the point where the curvature of the fold surface is maximum is called the hinge, and the line connecting the hinges is called the hinge line or fold axis (Figure 2). The parts of the hinge with smaller curvature on either side are called the wings or legs, and the point where the curvature is zero is called the inflection point.
