Women's World - Fujokai

Japanese: 婦女界 - ふじょかい

It was launched by Dobunkan in March 1910 as a pioneer of commercial women's magazines. In the early days, Tsubouchi Shoyo and Ueda Kazutoshi contributed articles, and the editorial collaborators were the husband-wife duo Hani Yoshikazu and Motoko, who would later go on to found Fujin no Tomo. In January 1918, Tsukawa Ryu took over the magazine (published by Fujokaisha), and it placed emphasis on serialized novels, with Oguri Fuyō, Oyamauchi Kaoru, and even Kikuchi Kan contributing works, which were widely received. However, it gradually became overshadowed by Shufu no Tomo and Fujin Club, and it began to lose vitality.

商業的な女性雑誌の草分けとして1910年3月に同文館から創刊された。初期には坪内逍遥や上田万年（かずとし）らが寄稿し，編集協力者としてはのちに《婦人之友》を興す羽仁吉一･もと子夫妻がいた。13年1月からは都河（つかわ）竜が雑誌を譲り受け(婦女界社発行)，連載小説を重視，小栗風葉や小山内薫，さらに菊池寛などが作品を寄せ，広く迎えられた。しかし，しだいに《主婦之友》や《婦人俱楽部》におされて生彩を欠くようになった。
