Fù xìng shū (English: Book of Regeneration)

Japanese: 復性書 - ふくせいしょ（英語表記）Fù xìng shū

A treatise written by Li Huan (772-841) of the Tang Dynasty, a disciple of Han Yu. It is included in his collection of essays, The Collected Works of Li Wengong. In it, he argued that the movement of "emotions" (emotions such as joy, anger, sorrow, fear, love, hatred, and desire) is the root cause of blinding the expression of "nature" (one's good nature), and that the way to become a saint is to keep the mind calm and motionless and return to "nature." His argument, along with his expulsion of heretics and his respect for the "Mencius," "The Doctrine of the Mean," "The Great Learning," and "The Book of Changes," had a great influence on Taoism (a newly revived Confucianism) in the following Song Dynasty.

韓愈の弟子である唐の李翺（りこう）(772‐841)の著した論文。その文集《李文公文集》所収。彼はここで，“情”(喜，怒，哀，懼(おそれ)，愛，悪(にくしみ)，欲などの感情)の動きは“性”(善なる本性)の発現をくらませる元凶であるから，心を〈寂然として動かざる〉状態に保ち“性”に復帰することが聖人に至る道だと説いた。彼のこの主張は，その異端排斥や《孟子》《中庸》《大学》《易経》の尊重とともに，次の宋代の道学(新たによみがえった儒教)に大きな影響を与えた。
