Pseudcolony

Japanese: pseudcolony
Pseudcolony

…Each individual that makes up a colony is called an individual or zooid, and in a true colony, the members are connected to each other through protoplasm, and all members are affected by nutritional intake and responses to stimuli. In contrast, if the members are only attached by dead substances such as shells and have no connection to each other, it is called a pseudocolony. Organisms that form colonies include plants such as cyanobacteria and green algae, and animals such as protozoans, sponges, cnidarians, endoprocta, bryozoans, and ascidians.
