One of the six Kannon. One of the statues at Taizokai Mandala Kannon-in Temple. pāśa (lasso) is a trap used for fishing and hunting, and amogha (unempire) means that labor is not in vain, and that one has a great compassion to save all living beings and leave them behind. In Japan, statues were mainly made in the 8th and 9th centuries, and a standing statue made of dry lacquer from the Tenpyo period is preserved in the Hokke-do (Sangatsu-do) of Todai-ji Temple, and there are also remains from around the 9th century at Koryuji Temple and Daian-ji Temple in Nara. It seems that faith in the Acalanatha Kannon was revived in the Kamakura period, and masterpieces such as a seated statue made by Kōkei in 1189 at Kofuku-ji Temple and a masterpiece from Fukuoka Kanzeon-ji Temple remain. The figure is usually made with one face, three eyes, and eight arms. A one-face, six-armed statue was excavated from Mathura in central India, and murals remain in Dunhuang.
