Felsic rock - Felsic rock

Felsic rock - Felsic rock
When igneous rocks are classified based on their chemical composition, rocks rich in Si, Al, Na, K, etc., and metamorphic rocks formed by metamorphosing these rocks are also called felsic rocks. The term acidic is sometimes used instead of felsic. When igneous rocks are classified based on the amount of SiO2, acidic refers to rocks with a content of 66% or more by weight, and the two terms often coincide. Felsic volcanic rocks include dacite, rhyolite, trachyte, and phonolite, hypabyssic rocks include granite, granite greenstone, and felsic rock.
