[Denial of mind-body separation]
It is natural that ideas that deny mind-body separation, which is a prerequisite for the mind-body intertwining, arise. These ideas include Spinoza, Mach, Avenarius, Bergson, Strawson, and more recently J. Smart's mind-brain identity theory. However, as mentioned above, there are natural and strong driving forces behind mind-body separation.
