Fitness

Japanese:
Fitness
In general, it refers to the aptitude of a person to live daily life and to actually perform intended actions. In the context of sports, fitness is used synonymously with the concept of health, defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, in a broad sense, but in a narrow sense, it is used synonymously with physical strength. In the former case, fitness is related to a good physical condition, the contribution of physical exercise to self-actualization, the contribution of physical exercise to interacting with the surrounding world, and the maintenance and improvement of occupational aptitude, while in the latter case, it is related to the prevention of disease, the delay of aging, and the improvement of motor function. In relation to this, there is also training called fitness training, which aims to improve and maintain fitness. The term began to be used in the United States in the 1930s, but in 1956, the President's Council on Youth Physical Fitness and Sports was established, which led to the promotion of fitness.
