...The subspecies of the forest rhododendron that grows in the subalpine zone of Taiwan is large and has beautiful bright red spots on the inside of the corolla. A white version of this flower is found in northern Taiwan and is called the red spotted rhododendron. Both are cultivated in Japan and can grow well outdoors.
