Lumnitzera racemosa (Willd.) Willd.

Japanese: ヒルギモドキ（英語表記）Lumnitzera racemosa (Willd.) Willd.

An evergreen shrub or small tree of the Combretaceae family that grows in mangroves, reaching a height of 8-10 m and a diameter of 30 cm. It has no pneumatic roots. The leaves are 3-9 cm long, narrowly obovate to oblong, entire, fleshy and leathery, and are gathered alternately at the ends of the twigs. The flowers are small white flowers 6-10 mm in diameter and borne in short racemes in the leaf axils. The calyx tube has 5 lobes at the end, 5 petals and 10 stamens. The fruits are green, slightly woody, oblong and 1-1.5 cm long. Although it is a mangrove tree, unlike trees of the Rhizophoraceae family, the seeds are not viviparous.
