〘Noun〙 Gold that came from China. A type of primitive currency from ancient China, it was introduced to Japan as trade settlement from China from the end of the Middle Ages to the mid-Edo period. It is like bullion, but weighs 100 momme ( 375 grams) or 50 momme each, and is of high quality, close to pure gold. By extension, it refers to high-quality gold. Inshi.
