Vinyl ether (English spelling)

Japanese: ビニルエーテル - びにるえーてる（英語表記）vinyl ether

A general term for ethers with the general formula CH ₂ =CH-O-R. They are produced by Reppe Chemical's vinylization reaction. For example, ethyl vinyl ether, C ₂ H ₅ OCH=CH ₂ , obtained by thermally decomposing acetal over a platinum catalyst, is a liquid with a boiling point of 35.7°C and is used in painkillers. Vinyl ethers easily undergo addition polymerization to become polyvinyl ethers. These polymers are widely used in paints, adhesives, fiber treatment agents, plasticizers, etc. [Nakai Takeshi]

一般式CH₂＝CH－O－Rで表されるエーテルの総称。レッペ化学のビニル化反応によってつくられる。たとえば，アセタールを白金触媒上で加熱分解して得られるエチルビニルエーテルC₂H₅OCH＝CH₂は沸点35.7℃の液体で，鎮痛剤などに用いられる。ビニルエーテル類は容易に付加重合してポリビニルエーテルとなる。この重合体は，塗料，接着剤，繊維処理剤，可塑剤などに広く用いられる。【中井武】
