A general term for sharks that harm and sometimes kill humans. In English, a shark attack is called a "shark attack," and a shark that attacks humans is called an "attacker shark." They are sometimes called "man eaters" or "man eating sharks," but these names are also alternative names for the great white shark. In Japan, the term is not limited to the great white shark. Of the approximately 350 species of sharks in the world, only about 30 species are harmful to humans, and most of these are over 2 meters in size.
