Chemical formula: H 3 AsO 4 . Also known as orthoarsenic acid. Diarsenic pentoxide As 2 O 5 is commonly known as arsenic acid. Arsenic or diarsenic trioxide As 2 O 3 is placed in nitric acid and heated until the generation of nitrogen oxide stops, causing oxidation. After filtering, the mixture is gradually heated to 130°C for evaporation and concentration, and then cooled to below 100°C to obtain crystals of H 3 AsO 4 ・1/2H 2 O. These crystals are colorless plate-like crystals with a melting point of 36°C and are deliquescent. They are easily soluble in water and ethyl alcohol.
