Japanese: 引目鉤鼻 - ひきめかぎはな

One of the techniques of expression in Yamato-e painting from the Heian period. It involves drawing slightly long eyes with thin brush lines on a long face with long black hair, and drawing a hooked nose with the same brush line. It was used to express the facial expressions of men and women at court, especially aristocrats. It is a typical expression of facial features, but in the Tale of Genji Illustrated Scroll, the subtle psychological expressions are expressed by layering fine brush lines. Other examples can be seen in the illustrated paintings of Murasaki Shikibu's Diary Illustrated Scroll and The Pillow Book Illustrated Scroll, as well as in paintings in the style of Hakubyou Yamato-e.

平安時代のやまと絵の表現技法の一つ。長い黒髪と面長の顔に細い筆線のやや長めの目を引き，同じ筆線で鉤状の鼻を描くこと。宮廷，特に貴族の男女の顔の表情を表現するのに用いられた。類型的な顔貌表現であるが，『源氏物語絵巻』では細密な筆線の引き重ねによって，微妙な心理を表出するまでにいたっている。このほか『紫式部日記絵巻』『枕草子絵巻』などの作り絵や，白描やまと絵の系統の絵に用例がみられる。
