The capital of Dong Nai Province in southern Vietnam. It is located about 30 km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City and overlooks the Dong Nai River. It is one of the ancient capitals of Cochinchina, and developed as a commercial center due to the activities of Chinese residents in the 17th and early 18th centuries. It was occupied by French troops in 1861. Since 1959, the South Vietnamese government at the time has been trying to attract foreign-affiliated factories, and it is now the largest industrial district in southern Vietnam. In addition to traditional industries such as brick and tile manufacturing and pottery, there are industries such as steel, metal products, refrigeration equipment, motorcycles, paper, textiles, and radio and television assembly. During the Vietnam War, it was the site of a large United States Air Force base. It is connected to Ho Chi Minh City by rail and road. It has a population of about 200,000.

ベトナム南部，ドンナイ省の省都。ホーチミン市の北東約 30kmにあり，ドンナイ川にのぞむ。コーチシナの古都の一つで，17～18世紀前半には中国系住民の活動により商業中心地として発展。 1861年フランス軍が占領。 1959年以降，当時の南ベトナム政府により外資系の工場誘致がはかられ，現在ベトナム南部最大の工業地区が形成されている。煉瓦・タイル製造，製陶などの在来工業のほか，鉄鋼，金属製品，冷凍設備，オートバイ，製紙，繊維，ラジオ・テレビ組立てなどの工業が立地する。ベトナム戦争中はアメリカ合衆国空軍の大規模な基地がおかれていた。ホーチミン市と鉄道，道路で連絡。人口約 20万。
