Ding-ling (English spelling)

Japanese: 定陵 - ていりょう（英語表記）Ding-ling

The tomb of Emperor Shenzong Wanli, the 14th emperor of the Ming Dynasty, China. It is one of the 13 Ming Tombs in the northern suburbs of Beijing. It was constructed over a period of six years, beginning in 1584 (the 12th year of the Wanli era). Excavations took place between 1956 and 1958, revealing the contents of the tomb, located 27 meters underground. The tomb is huge, consisting of five chambers at the front, middle, back, left and right, with a total area of 1,195 ^m2 , making it truly worthy of being called an underground palace. Three wooden coffins were placed in the rear hall, and numerous grave goods, including a jeweled crown, were discovered.

中国，明の第 14代神宗万暦帝の陵。北京市北郊の明十三陵の一つである。万暦 12 (1584) 年から6年をかけて営造された。 1956～58年にわたって発掘され，地下 27mの深さにある墓の内容が明らかにされた。墓室は前中後左右の5つの室から成り，総面積は 1195m²にも及ぶ巨大なもので，まさに地下宮殿と呼ぶにふさわしい。後殿には3個の木棺が置かれ，宝冠をはじめとして多数の副葬品が発見された。
