Pierrot Lunaire

This is a representative work (opus 21) from A. Schoenberg's atonal period, composed in 1912 and dedicated "in heartfelt friendship to the premiere performer, Madame Tschoem." The Japanese title is "Pierrot Lunaire." It is based on the collection of poems of the same name by Belgian poet A. Giraud (translated into German as "Hartleben") and consists of 7 songs in each of 3 parts. It is a work for an ensemble with an innovative combination of voice, piano, flute (with piccolo), clarinet (with bass clarinet), violin (with viola), and cello, and the instrument arrangement changes for each piece.

A.シェーンベルクの無調時代の代表的な作品(作品21)で，1912年に作曲され，〈初演者ツェーメ夫人に心からの友情をもって〉献呈された。邦訳名は《月に憑（つ）かれたピエロ》。ベルギーの詩人A.ジローの同名の詩集(ドイツ語訳《ハルトレーベン》)に基づき，全3部各7曲からなっている。声，ピアノ，フルート(ピッコロ持ちかえ)，クラリネット(バス･クラリネット持ちかえ)，バイオリン(ビオラ持ちかえ)，チェロという斬新な組合せのアンサンブルのための作品で，楽器編成は各曲ごとに変化する。
