A Late Paleolithic culture with the Meiendorf site near Hamburg, Germany as its reference site. It is dated to around 12,000-9,000 BC. It was distributed mainly in northern Germany, and evidence can be seen of reindeer hunters moving into the tundra-like landscape immediately after the ice sheet retreated. It is thought to have continued from the eastern Gravette culture or the surrounding Magdalenian culture. In addition to bone and horn tools such as horn tools with geometric patterns made from reindeer antlers, many stone tools are found, with the most distinctive being the shoulder-headed point tool and the Zinken.
