Unpenji Temple

A temple in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture. Omuro School of Shingon Buddhism. Temple No. 66 of the 88 Sacred Temples of Shikoku. Located at an altitude of 911m near the summit of Mount Unpenji, it is one of the difficult spots known as the "pilgrimage route". It is said to have been founded by Kobo Daishi (Kukai) in 789. 徳島県三好市にある寺院。真言宗御室派。四国八十八箇所霊場第66番札所。雲辺寺山山頂付近の標高911mに位置し、「遍路ころがし」と呼ばれる難所のひとつ。789年、弘法大師（空海）の開山と伝わる。本尊の千手観音坐像は国の重要文化財。
