Year of birth: Year of birth unknown. A military commander in the Warring States period. One of the Miyoshi Three. Also written as Ishinari. Chief tax assistant. He initially served Miyoshi Nagayoshi and Yoshitsugu. In May 1565, together with Matsunaga Hisahide and others, he supported Yoshitsugu and killed Shogun Ashikaga Yoshiteru. Later, he came into conflict with Hisahide and, together with Miyoshi Nagatsugu and Miyoshi Masayasu, was called the Miyoshi Three. In May of the following year, he fought in Izumi Province with Hisahide and Hatakeyama Takamasa, and continued fighting throughout the Kinai region. In May of the same year, he camped at the Nenbutsudo Hall of Todaiji Temple with Ikeda Katsumasa, and fought against Matsunaga's forces based at Kaidan-in. In the following year, he allied with Rokkaku Yoshikata of Omi Province to stop Oda Nobunaga, who was trying to go to Kyoto with Ashikaga Yoshiaki, but failed, and instead, he was attacked at Shoryuji Castle in Yamashiro Province and surrendered. In January of the following year, taking advantage of Nobunaga's return to his homeland, he attacked Yoshiaki, who was stationed at Honkokuji Temple in Kyoto, together with Nagatsugu and Masayasu, but was defeated by resistance. In July of 1573, when Yoshiaki raised anti-Nobunaga troops at Makishima Castle in Yamashiro Province, he responded. He took up residence in Yodo Castle in Yamashiro Province, but was attacked by Hosokawa (Nagaoka) Fujitaka and others, and the castle fell on August 2nd, and he was defeated and killed.

戦国時代の武将。三好三人衆のひとり。石成とも書く。主税助。はじめ三好長慶・義継父子に仕える。永禄8(1565)5月,松永久秀らと共に義継を擁して将軍足利義輝を殺害。のち久秀と対立して,三好長逸,三好政康と共に三好三人衆と呼ばれた。翌9年5月久秀,畠山高政勢と和泉国に戦い,以来畿内一帯に合戦を続けた。同10年5月池田勝正と共に東大寺念仏堂に陣して,戒壇院に拠った松永軍と合戦。翌11年,足利義昭を擁して上洛しようとする織田信長を近江国六角義賢と結んで阻止しようとしたが成らず,逆に山城国勝竜寺城を攻撃されて降伏した。翌年1月,信長帰国の間隙を突いて,長逸,政康と共に京都本国寺在陣の義昭を襲ったが,抵抗にあい敗退。天正1(1573)年7月,義昭が反信長の兵を山城国槙島城に挙げると,これに呼応。山城国淀城に拠ったが,細川(長岡)藤孝らに攻められ8月2日落城,敗死した。
