Hanzan ruins

A necropolis of the Neolithic Gansu Yangshao Culture semi-mountain type located in Guanghe County, Gansu Province, China. The site is located on the summit of Semi-mountain, about 400 meters above the bed of the Tao River. In 1924, Sweden's J. G. Anderson surveyed the Semi-mountain tombs at Bianjiagou and Wakanzui, and excavated a complete tomb from the Semi-mountain period from the former. The individual was buried in a recumbent burial position with his head facing east and facing south. Eight painted double-eared jars, four unpainted coarse jars, two stone axes, and two grindstones were excavated around the human bones. Many of the hundreds of pieces of painted pottery Anderson purchased in Lanzhou were looted from the Banshan Cemetery, and they have a typical shape with a spherical body, a semicircular handle, and a flat bottom that tapers into a truncated cone shape, and are decorated with beautiful spiral patterns, four-circle patterns, and curved lines.The Banshan type is based on these relics and is derived from the Majiayakiln type of the Yangshao culture of Gansu.

中国、甘粛(かんしゅく)省広河県にある新石器時代の甘粛仰韶(ぎょうしょう)文化半山類型の墓地遺跡。遺跡は洮河(とうが)の河床から約400メートル高い半山の山頂にある。1924年スウェーデンのJ・G・アンダーソンが半山古墓群のうちの辺家溝(へんかこう)と瓦罐嘴(がかんし)を調査し、前者から半山期の完全な墓を一基発掘した。この墓は、頭を東に向け南面した横臥屈葬(おうがくっそう)で埋葬され、人骨の周囲から彩文のある双耳壺(そうじこ)8、無彩の粗質の壺4、石斧(せきふ)2、砥石(といし)2が出土した。アンダーソンが蘭州(らんしゅう)で購入した数百個の彩陶の多くは半山墓地から盗掘されたもので、胴部が球状に張って半環状の把手(とって)がつき、截頭倒錐(せっとうとうすい)形にすぼむ平底の典型的な器形に美しい渦文、四大円圏文、曲線文が描かれている。半山類型はこれらの遺物を標式としたもので、甘粛仰韶文化の馬家窯(ばかよう)類型から派生したものである。
