A magazine published in Chinese by American missionary Young J. Allen (Chinese name Lin Lezhi) in the late Qing Dynasty in China. When it was first published in September 1868 (the 7th year of the Tongzhi era), it was a weekly magazine called The Church News, but after the 300th issue, it became a monthly magazine from September 1874 until 1983, and was published under the name The Chinese Globe Magazine. After a six-year hiatus, the English title was changed to Review of the Times in February 1889 (the 15th year of the Guangxu era), and 228 issues were published until 1908 with the support of the Guangxu Society, a Protestant organization in the UK, US, and Germany.
