Pan American World Airways,Inc.
An American commercial airline. Abbreviated as PANAM. Headquartered in New York. Airline code is PA. The airline mainly operated international routes, but due to the effects of the global economic downturn following the 1973 oil crisis, it suspended some routes, including round-the-world routes, and opened domestic routes in the United States with the passage of the Civil Aviation Deregulation Act in 1978, and worked to improve its management. It began flying to Japan in 1947. It was established in 1927 to bid on foreign mail transport, and began operating between Miami and Havana.
