River Barrow

Japanese: バロー[川]（英語表記）River Barrow

The River Originates in the Slieve Bloom Mountains in central Ireland, flows eastward, then southward, and empties into the Port of Waterford. It is also known as the Three Sisters, as it merges with the River Nole and the River Schull, which flow from the west, near its mouth. It forms a 15-30m wide gorge in the middle and lower reaches, and is known for the beautiful scenery, especially between the city of Carlow and the city of New Ross, and for the many churches and castle ruins along the riverside.

アイルランド島中央部，スリーブ･ブルーム山地に発し，はじめ東進し，次いで南下してウォーターフォード港に注ぐ全長約200kmの川。下流と河口付近で西から流れてくるノール川およびシュール川と合流することから，これらは〈三姉妹The Three Sisters〉とも呼ばれる。中流から下流にかけて，幅15mから30mの峡谷を形成し，とくにカーロー市から下流のニューロス市までの間の景観の美しさと，河岸に教会，古城跡などが多いことで知られている。
