Hurling

A ball game that has been played in Ireland since the 15th century. The game is played by hitting a ball with a wooden stick, aiming for a goal. It is considered the origin of hockey, and the rules are similar to those of hockey and soccer. The stick must be used to hit the ball, but it is permitted to stop the ball in the air with the hand.
