Orthodoxy

…The word comes from the Greek word hairesis, meaning “sect,” but usually refers to a position or advocate that is condemned or excluded in a group that espouses or professes a particular doctrine. Thus, heresy is defined as the opposite of orthodoxy, while being distinguished from paganism, which is an enemy based on a different doctrine. Historically, heresy became a problem in Europe after the establishment of Christianity.
