The peasant uprising in Harima Province

Japanese: 播磨国の土一揆 - はりまのくにのつちいっき

A general term for peasant uprisings that occurred in Harima Province. There are four known cases of peasant uprisings in Harima Province to date. The first is an uprising that occurred in November 1428 (Shocho 1), and it is confirmed that a decree of amnesty was issued at that time. The second is an uprising that occurred in January 1429, in which local people, under the slogan "Samurai should not be allowed in the country," attacked and defeated the military forces of the shugodai (provincial governor) and other shugo forces, as well as the magistrates of various manors. The third is known to have been an uprising by peasant uprisings in Ako County in May 1454 (Kyotoku 3), but the details are unknown.

播磨国に起きた土一揆の総称。播磨国で土一揆の起きた事例としては，現在まで4例が知られている。第1は，1428年(正長1)11月に起きた土一揆で，このときには徳政令が出されたことが確認される。第2は，1429年正月に起きた一揆で，土民は〈侍を国中に在らしむべからず〉というスローガンのもとに，守護代をはじめとする守護方の軍勢や諸荘園の代官を攻めて，これを討ち取っている。第3は，1454年(享徳3)5月に赤穂郡中の土一揆の蜂起した事実が知られるが，詳しい事情はわからない。
