...A type of wiring circuit breaker used to protect indoor branch lines instead of a safety device that contains a fuse in a ceramic container with a lid is called a no-fuse breaker or safety breaker, or simply called a breaker (Table 1). A current limiter that is installed near the service entrance and automatically cuts off the load current when it exceeds a specified value in order to fulfill the terms of the power supply contract (ampere contract) between the power company and the consumer is also called a safety breaker, or simply a breaker.
