1872‐1947
The eighth emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam. Reigned 1884-85. Nephew of the fourth emperor, Tu Duc. His childhood name was Phuoc Minh. After the death of Tu Duc in 1883, Emperors Duc Duc, Hiep Hoa, and Kien Phuoc were successively supported and dethroned by powerful officials. In 1884, Nguyen Van Tuong and Ton Tat Tuyet enthroned Phuoc Minh, and the following year was designated the first year of the Xian Yi Dynasty. However, the Second Treaty of Hue in 1884 divided Vietnam into thirds, with the southern part becoming a direct territory of France and the northern part becoming a protectorate, and only the central part being able to be ruled by the French.

グエン(阮)朝ベトナム第8代皇帝。在位1884‐85年。第4代トゥドゥック(嗣徳)帝のおい。幼名はフォックミン(福明)。トゥドゥック帝の死(1883)後，ズクドゥック(育徳)帝，ヒエップホア(協和)帝，キエンフォック(建福)帝が次々と権臣に擁立されては廃されたが，1884年グエン･バン･トゥオン(阮文祥)，トン･タット･トゥエット(尊室説)がフォックミンを即位させ，翌年を咸宜元年とした。しかし84年の第2次フエ条約によりベトナム全土は三分され，南部はフランスの直轄地，北部は保護領になり，中部のみが保護国としてようやく支配しうるのみであった。
