LPG tankers transport gas in refrigerated tanks by pressurizing or freezing it to make it liquefied. There are various types of LPG tankers, including an independent tank type in which a heat-insulated steel tank is placed inside the ship's hold, and a membrane type in which the ship has a double-layered hull and the liquid is held in place by a thin metal plate inside the heat-insulating material applied to the inside.
