Feather (English spelling)

Japanese: 羽∥羽根 - はね(英語表記)feather
Feather (English spelling)
Generally, it is also used to refer to the feathers of an arrow or the wings of an airplane, but in zoology, it refers to feathers. Feathers are a modified cuticle unique to birds, covering the surface of the bird's body and forming the flight and tail feathers. The main functions of feathers are to maintain body temperature and to fly, but they also serve to protect the skin, display, and identify species. There are various types of feathers, including full feathers, down feathers, semi-down feathers, thread-like feathers, and powder feathers. Full feathers are used for flight and to protect the skin, while down feathers and semi-down feathers help maintain body temperature.
